Ross Barkley set for Chelsea medical ahead of £15m move from Everton
Chelsea set to complete Ross Barkley deal for £15m from Everton
Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is expected to have a medical at Chelsea on Friday before a £15m move to Stamford Bridge.
Barkley turned down a move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day in August after a fee in the region of £30m had been agreed with Everton.
But that the deal has been revived and is nearing completion, according to reports.
The England international rejected a new deal at Everton and is out of contract at the end of this season, opening the door to a cut-price move.
Barkley has yet to play this season after having hamstring surgery following a training injury but is now approaching match fitness.
Speaking on Thursday, Everton manager Sam Allardyce admitted that his club were braced to receive further offers from “some of the big boys” for Barkley and conceded that his departure from Goodison Park is inevitable.
Barkley, who is an academy graduate has played 150 times for Everton in the Premier League, scoring 21 times since making his debut in 2011.
