Portugal release 23-man squad for World Cup as Nani misses out
Portugal have released their 23-man squad for the World Cup with Barcelona duo Andre Gomes and Nelson Semedo both left out by boss Fernando Santos.
There is Premier league representation in the shape of Southampton defender Cedric Soares, Leicester midfielder Adrien Silva and Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.

Santos said: “Is this squad stronger than the Euro 2016 squad? That’s impossible to say.
“At Euro 2016 Portugal won a trophy for the first time and we have to be grateful to the players for that.
“What I can say is that I’m as confident in this squad as I was for the Euro.”
