First half goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez gave Arsenal a 2-0 win over Tottenham in the north London derby.
Arsenal have now moved within a point of their rivals in the Premier League after German centre-back put the Gunners in front with an outstanding header in the 36th minute at the Emirates.
Sanchez doubled the lead just before the break, blasting into the roof of the net from a yard out after good work from Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette down the right.
Tottenham team offered nothing – Christian Eriksen, fresh from his Dublin heroics, hit the post in the first half and Harry Kane’s header was plucked out of the air by Cech – but they had certainly been knocked out of their usual confident stride.
Their efforts on goal were few and far between, with their best chance of finding a way back coming when Mustafi blocked a close-range Harry Kane shot near the hour mark. The England striker looked off the pace and was substituted for Fernando Llorente with 15 minutes to go.
