A 95th minute spot kick from Mohamed Salah was all Egypt needed to seal a World Cup ticket come next year.

Salah had put the Pharaohs ahead in the 63rd with a clinical finish before Arnold Bouka Moutou leveled the scoreline for Congo in the 88th minute to cut short of the home team’s celebration.

Salah came very close to doubling the socre on the 78th minute before Mouko stopped the shot with his foot.

Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet was brought in the box and the Liverpool man stepped forward to smash the ball to the right side of the goal from the spot as the keeper went the wrong way.

The win means they are four points clear of second-placed Uganda with only one game remaining.
