Milorad Mazic to officiate Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool

Mazic will be the center man when Real take on Liverpool on May 26.

Serbian referee Milorad Mazic will officiate the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool in Kiev, Ukraine on May 26.

Mazic is a top FIFA official and is a vastly experience referee having been officiating since 2009.

The 45-year-old refereed Real at the start of last season, sending off Sevilla’s Timothee Kolodziejczak before the Los Blancos won the UEFA Super Cup 3-2 in extra time.

He has also refereed at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2016 and is set to be in Russia for this summer’s World Cup.

Mazic’s refereeing team for the final includes assistants Milovan Ristic and Dalibor Djurdjevic, fourth official Clement Turpin and additional assistant referees Nenad Djokic, Danilo Grujic.

Dutch ref Bjorn Kuipers will take charge of the Europa League final on May 16 when Atletico Madrid and meet Marseille in Lyon.

Mazic and Kuipers have both been picked by FIFA for a second straight World Cup, which kicks off next month.
