Harry Kane positive of beating Mohamed Salah to golden boot

The 24-year-old says he is confident of beating Salah to golden boot.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane says he is confident he can outshine Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah to win the Premier League golden boot.

Kane, who has found the back of net on 24 different occasions in the Premier League this season, is trailing Salah by five goals.

The England international is bidding to become the first player since Thierry Henry to finish as the Premier League top scorer for a third consecutive season.

“I still believe I can. There are still games to go,” Kane said.

“I’ve got to focus on my game. I can’t control what he does.

“Obviously as a striker, it would be great to win the golden boot again and I will keep working hard from now until the end of the season.”

Kane is insisting Eriksen’s free-kick grazed his shoulder on its way past Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland and Spurs could appeal against the decision to award their Danish midfielder with the goal.

“I swear on my daughter’s life that I touched the ball, but there’s nothing I can do,” Kane said.

“If they turn it around, they turn it around. If they take my word, they take my word.

“It is what it is – the most important thing is that we won the game.”
