Gianluigi Buffon has confirmed he will leave Juventus at the end of the season.

Buffon, who will play his final game for Juventus against Verona on Saturday, won nine Serie A titl after playing 1,050 games and 17 years for the Italian champions.

“Saturday will be my last match at Juventus and finishing my adventure like that, with two titles, with the support of (Juventus chairman) Andrea (Agnelli) and all the Bianconero people, will be the most beautiful,” Buffon told reporters.

Speaking to the press, Buffon said he will not make a final decision on his career until next week, when the club’s season is over.

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli revealed Buffon has an offer from the club to take up a role off the pitch but the 40-year-old also has offers to continue playing for another club.

Agnelli also stated that Wojciech Szczesny will be the club’s first choice goalkeeper next season.

Buffon has won four successive Coppa Italias and five Italian Supercoppas with Juventus. During his time with Parma he also won the Coppa Italia, UEFA Cup and Italian Supercoppa in 1999.
