Champions League lineups: Salah returns for Liverpool with Aguero on bench


Liverpool welcome back Mohammed Salah to the starting line-up after sustaining a groin strain since the 3-0 first leg defeat against City at Anfield,

Salah, who has 38 goals to his name in all competitions, trained on Monday and is fit to take his place in the starting line-up.

City defenders John Stones and Danilo miss out after both were both absent from training on Monday. Pep Guardiola is expected to go with three at the back Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte.

Liverpool boss Klopp, the fitness of Salah is crucial ahead of the match.

“We have to see. We have to wait for the reaction tomorrow. Then we’ll make a decision. That’s it.”

The former Dortmund boss revealed in his press conference on Monday that a decision on Salah’s fitness would be made on Tuesday prior to kick-off and that the mood inside his camp is rather special.

“In the club, the mood is special at this moment. You can feel it,” said manager Jurgen Klopp, whose is hoping to lead Liverpool to their first semi-final of the Champions League since 2008.

“It is not easy to be part of the normal life and feel and hear what people are saying about the excitement and importance of the competition.
