Barcelona knocked out by outstanding three-goal Roma comeback

Roma win 3-0 to overturn 4-1 first-leg deficit against Barcelona to reach last four.

Barcelona have been knocked of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage by Roma after the Italian side scored three times to win 3-0 and complete a remarkable comeback at the Stadio Olimpico.

Barcelona won the first leg 4-1 thanks in large part to two own goals, but Roma owned the second leg of the tie. Edin Dzeko gave the Italian side an early lead in the sixth minute, Daniele De Rossi converted a penalty that Dzeko drew in the 58th minute, and Kostas Manolas ducked down deep to guide home a header off a corner in the 82nd minute to send Roma to the Champions League last four.

Barcelona, meanwhile, looked nothing like itself all night, and hasn’t been past the quarterfinals in Europe since winning the Champions League in 2015.
