Arturo Vidal has announced his retirement from international duty following Chile World Cup exit


Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has announced his retirement from international duty.

Vidal, 30, made the Announcement after Chile failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

He announced the decision in an emotional post on Instagram.

“Thanks a lot guys for everything !! Thanks for all these years together for leaving life in every game for teaching me and teaching a country that with effort and work everything can be in life !!! with a broken soul but at the same time pride of these players and coaching staff !!!”

The Juventus, who made his 99th appearance for La Roja against Brazil where they lost 3-0, had planned to retire after next summer’s tournament but has moved his decision forward.

Juan Antonio Pizzi has also stepped down as manager following the defeat.
