Arsenal launch new home kit for the 2018/19 season

Arsenal have unveiled their home kit for the 2018-19 season with midfielder Aaron Ramsey missing during the unveiling.

Arsenal are sponsored by sports brand Puma who have designed a kit that is reminiscent of previous editions.

The shirt features Arsenal’s vibrant red on the torso and back but uses white more prominently across the shoulder and sleeves than last season’s kit.

An ‘Authentic’ version of the kit will cost supporters £100 while the other adult shirts cost between £55 and £60. Junior kits cost between £45 and £50.

Arsenal launched the new look with a promotional video on their official Twitter account accompanied by the hashtag #WeAreTheArsenal.

The video features Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alex Iwobi, Mesut Ozil, Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette speaking about their experiences playing football during their childhood.

‘When I was young I played football a lot,’ Aubameyang said during the video. ‘I played everywhere, at school, in the street and in my living room. I got in trouble for coming home late to dinner after playing football.’

The campaign is designed to celebrate Arsenal’s supporters and channel their ‘desire, rhythm, and passion’ that fuel the club and their players.

Iwobi adds: ‘Growing up I was playing in the cage and playing Power League with friends. They gave me the confidence to show what I can do and if I could do it against older kids then I could do it against anyone.’

The shirt includes a ‘Beat of the City’ emblem across the chest, shirt sleeves and the socks while alternating between lighter and darker red shades on the torso.

Puma have acted as Arsenal’s kit manufacturer since the 2014-15 season when the 20-year run with Nike ended.

Airline Fly Emirates will act as Arsenal’s shirt sponsors as they have done every year since the move from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium in 2006.

It is likely to be Puma’s last Arsenal kit with the club expected to change manufacturers for the 2019-20 season.
